How much does Google Business Profile management cost?

The profile is free from Google. Paying someone to keep it current is not, and most providers ask you to book a call before they name a price. These are the ones that publish theirs.

The short answer

For one location, done-for-you management costs $149 to $400 a month among providers that publish a price. The low end covers posts, review monitoring and a report; the high end adds active review replies, questions, citations and more frequent reporting. Software that automates posting and reporting costs $31 to $99 a month, and you still do the parts it does not.

What the money buys

  • Posts: from 4 a month at the low end to 8 or more on higher tiers.
  • Review replies: monitoring and templates on cheaper plans, a written reply to every review on higher ones.
  • Questions and answers on the profile, photos, hours and categories kept current.
  • Citations and competitor monitoring: usually only on the higher tier or as an add-on (Loganix lists citation building at $100 to $400).
  • Reporting: monthly at most providers, every two weeks on L3ad Solutions' Growth plan.

Google's own Business Profile Help says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up in local results, that replying to reviews helps a business stand out, and that there is no way to pay Google for a better local ranking. What management buys is the upkeep, not a position.

Four things to check before you pay

  1. Who owns the profile. It should stay in your Google account, with the provider added as a manager.
  2. The contract. Several providers above bill month to month; ask before you sign a 12-month term.
  3. How many posts and whether every review gets a written reply, not just monitoring.
  4. How reviews are requested. Google's policies forbid asking only happy customers, so a plan that screens who gets the review link is a risk to the profile.

What Nova Solutions charges

Google Business Profile management is $149 a month: categories, hours, service area and services corrected, monthly posts and photos, questions answered, a reply to every new review, and the profile and website linked both ways. It is included in Local SEO at $597 a month, which adds service-area pages, citations and on-page work. In our study of 923 contractor homepages, 38% did not link to their Google Maps listing.
